Professional Background
Hi, I’m Rick Hipp, a licensed mental health counselor, Certified Addictions Therapist, and consultant with over 16 years of experience serving diverse communities in Colorado and Hawaii. I earned my advanced degree in Mental Health Therapy and Counseling from Chaminade University of Honolulu.
In my practice, I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches—including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solutions-Focused Therapy, Trauma-Informed Care, and Mindfulness-Based Techniques—to support each client’s unique journey. My work has included helping veterans, LGBTQIA+ individuals, forensic populations, and those facing life-threatening illness find clarity, healing, and lasting change.

Therapeutic Approach
I believe therapy is a partnership. I tailor each session to your unique needs, drawing on a holistic blend of:

- CBT – breaking negative thought patterns and building healthier behaviors
- Solution-Focused Therapy – identifying practical steps to reach your goals
- Mindfulness & Positive Psychology – cultivating present-moment awareness and personal strengths
Whether you’re taking “baby steps” or ready for deeper exploration, my goal is to guide you toward greater self-understanding and resilience.
